Happy October, you Knitventurers, you!
Autumn is my favorite time of year. There is nothing like the sound of leaves scattering over pavement, the trees showing the colorful beauty of letting go, and the crisp, clear air. It is the season that most inspires me, but I think I’m really a child of the forest at heart, so that only makes sense.
You may have noticed the website’s new look. I am very excited to share the beginnings of the daisy chain knits’ brand revamp with you. There has been a lot going on behind the scenes, including a complete rework of all of the existing free patterns into Ravelry-friendly PDFs so everyone can keep their patterns in the comfort of their Ravelry library. The old patterns have all either been or are in the process of being test knit, and suggestions have been incorporated to make them even better for knitting than they were before.
Speaking of test knits – if you are interested in test knitting opportunities, please sign up for our test knitting clan email list. In addition to being the first to know of new test knitting opportunities, and being given priority in testing selection, you’ll be sent an informational sheet of 10 Ways to be an AWESOME Test Knitter a day after you sign up.
I have been feverishly working on daisy chain knits’ new collection based on the enchantment of the different forest layers. I am one repeat away from finishing the sample for Terra Firma – a provisionally cast on, knit flat and grafted cowl, showcasing the beauty of elements that fall to the forest floor. With leaves, twisted stitches, pine cone and mossy elements, this cowl is perfect for the nature lover in your life. It has an elegant drape and classy flair. Here’s a sneak peek of my progress.
I have a bit of grafting experimentation ahead of me, because my goal is to have the grafting be similar to the textures in pattern. Once the sample is finished, it’s off to tech editing this week, and I’m onto my next pattern in the collection. Test knitting will be happening soon, so don’t forget to sign up for the test knitting list. Click here to go to the test knitters’ page for more information.
Thanks for checking in on what’s happening here at daisy chain knits, and I look forward to having more to share with you soon.
Knit on, Knitventurers!
